Paperwork
For this event you will be hired as a direct employee of Cascade Games LLC. As a condition of employment for this event all staff will be required to fill out tax (w-2), proof of employment eligibility (i-9), a consent to a background check, and the employee agreement form. We will send you a form W2 for your taxes at end of the year. To allow for calculation of tax withholdings, payments will be sent on the Friday after the event (if you need payment sooner, talk with us to arrange an advance).
Why are we paying convention staff as direct employees this year? We are doing our best to ensure compliance with employment regulations. Each state has its own labor regulations and they are always in flux. This year, in a number of states in which we operate, there is a movement among regulators to re-interpret regulations about employee classification. Given the uncertainty that this creates, we are opting to use the default classification and pay our convention teams as employees. If you have any questions about this, please contact Traci Shields (traci@cascadegames.com).
Hotel & Travel
Travel to the event and lodging is your responsibility. More details will be posted as they become available.
