Indiana Community Conference Q1 2018

Welcome to the Indiana State Community Conference for 2018

This conference will be hosted in Fort Wayne IN, starting at Noon at the Game Annex.

Who Can Attend?

This conference is for any level of judge who has a desire to work to develop their community. We invite any Indiana judges to attend, along with any Great Lakes Region Level 3 Judge.

What will we be doing?

As the community in the state of Indiana, we want everyone to play an active role in the conference. In lieu of traditional lectures and presentations, we will instead be holding moderated discussions on a few selected topics.

Format of panels

At each panel, we will ask that a judge prepare a brief position statement (10 minutes or less) on a suggested topic, which we will then open up to everyone for discussion and Q&A. During each of these panels, we would also like a second judge to volunteer to take notes, moderate the discussion, and present a summary of the discussion at the end of each panel topic. If deemed useful, position papers and chairs’ summaries could be uploaded to the GL web pages. The default schedule for each such panel is:

12:20-1:20: Future of the Program, Moderated by Patrick Nelson

1:20-1:30: Break

1:30-2:30: Role of Judges in the Program, Moderated by Patrick Cobley

2:30-2:40: Break

2:40-3:40: Mentorship. Moderated by Jeff Kruckkow

3:40-3:50: Break

3:50-4:50: Policy Discussion. Moderated by Dalton Grimes

4:50-5:00: Wrap Up

5:00-X: Hang out, have fun, potential dinner


How to apply

Fill the application including the questionnaire. No cover letter required; comments, however, are always welcome.

Foil Support Notice:

Foils will be handed out differently for the comminuty conferences this year. As we will be having 4 over the year, we want judges to participate in continuing development in the state. So to receive foils, one must attend at least 2 of the 4 to receive a foil packet. These will be distributed at the end of the year, at or about the 4th community conference. if you attend all 4, you will receive a 2nd packet
