Hairy Tarantula Challenge Series - April 2018

Hello Judges, and welcome to the 2018 Hairy Tarantula Challenge Series! We have one solicitation per month of events. Please read this whole listing as it has details on applications, acceptances, and compensation.

EVENTS

This solicitation is for the following events of the HTCS:

April 7 Modern SCG IQ
April 14 Legacy EW Trial
April 28 Sealed PPTQ for PT Atlanta

We are looking for at least one L1+ judge per event. We also require a L2+ for the PPTQ.

EXPECTATIONS

Judging is a lot of fun, but it's also hard work. During your event, you may be asked to do any of the following:

• Take judge calls
• Clean up trash
• Push in chairs
• Clear aisles
• Post Pairings/Standings
• Clean up trash
• Distribute product
• Push in chairs
• Crowd Control
• Clean up trash
• Perform Deck Checks
• Watch Magic
• Push in chairs
• Clean up trash!

Judges are expected to read the relevant documents for their event(s), including:

• Magic Comprehensive Rules (CR)
• Magic Tournament Rules (MTR)
• Infraction Procedure Guide (IPG)
• Judging at Regular REL (JAR)
• Release Notes for appropriate set(s)

Judges are also expected to arrive at their call time (roughly 45 minutes before their event is scheduled to start), in appropriate attire (Magic Judge shirt or black button-up shirt; black cargo pants, slacks or skirt; comfortable black shoes). Judges are expected to stay until the end of their event.

COMPENSATION

Compensation is based on event and/or role.

Head Judge for the PPTQ will receive $160
Floor Judges for all events receive $100. If an individual event has more than 32 players, Floor Judges will receive an extra $15.

Amounts are in cash. You may choose to receive your compensation in store credit, with a 25% bonus.

Click the "Apply Now" button at the top of this page. Make sure to denote which event(s) you are available and/or applying for. Applications will be accepted until March 26. Late applications will be accepted for later events in the month, but will be given lower priority than applications received before the deadline.
