Mid-Atlantic Summer Conference

I am happy to announce the Mid-Atlantic Judge Conference, to be held at the Star City Games Center in Roanoke, Virginia, on June 11, 2018. This is the Monday after SCG Con. 

Our community continues to grow and as more judges continue to join the local Magic scene we must ensure that they stay up to date on current best practices. Judge Conferences are the occasion to meet new people and see old friends, to learn and to teach, to share your tips and spread knowledge. They are one of the best opportunities to get good practices and share what works for you. During this conference, short seminars or workshops focused on one aspect of the judge program will be presented by volunteers. Each seminar will be focused on providing experiential learning opportunities. With Pro Tour Richmond and SCG Con a week apart, our hope is to secure some of the best presentations available for you.

The Judge Conference is open to everyone, regardless of Judge Level or location. We are limited to 95 seats and may need to prioritize applications. Acceptances will be weighted by 1) Willingness to present during the conference and 2) Location (with priority going to Mid-Atlantic judges) 

SCHEDULING

The conference will be run from 10am until 4pm with two presentations running concurrently. Star City Games has agreed to provide pizza for attendees during the event. We will also be organizing a group (or several group) judge dinners following the conference. 

FOIL SUPPORT

Our friends at Wizards of the Coast are supporting this conference by providing a selection of judge foils for our attendees. The number of foils given to each attendee will be based on the number of seminars attended. Starting in 2018, Mid-Atlantic Judges are limited to two (2) attendance packets of conference support per year, this is to ensure our allocation of foils from Wizards is enough to last through the year. 

In order to guarantee that you receive foils, you must pre-register for the conference. Judges who register after April 30th cannot be guaranteed foils.
