Grand Prix Vienna 2014 Judge Conference

We're proud to announce the Grand Prix Vienna 2014 Judge Conference. Jernej Lipovec and Oliver Tremel are reunited again to organise an even better Judge Conference than the one in 2013.

Judge Conferences are the occasion to meet new people and see old friends from all around the world, to learn and teach, to share your tips and spread knowledge. They are one of the best opportunities to get good practices and updated information passed amongst the judge community. During this conference, shorts seminars or workshops focused on one aspect of the judge program will be presented by volunteers.

The Judge Conference is open to everyone, regardless of Judge Level, or whether you are judging internationally or just locally.  If you are interested in attending, please apply here so that we will have an accurate headcount. Judges who are not on staff at GP Vienna of course very welcome to join.

Judges who applied for the Judge Conference will receive Judge Foils for attending the seminars. Judges who will not apply through JudgeApps won't be able to recieve Judge Foils. Please make sure you post this application to your local forums or mailing lists, so other judges in your region can see it.

Schedule

The Judge Conference will be held from 10:15 until 18:30 on Friday, March 21th 2014. Starting date and exact schedule are subject to changes, so make sure you check again a few days before the conference.

The conference will begin with a meet and greet and proceed with the seminars. After a lunch break seminars will continue until 18:30.
There will be seminars geared toward all interests and levels of experience.

Exact schedule and content to be announced when presenters and topics are known. Schedule may be subject to modifications at a later point.

Presenting a seminar

We are looking for presenters for this conference. If you might be interested in presenting, please mention this (along with a topic, if you know what you want to present) in your application or through email to Jernej (neykomir@gmail.com) and Oliver (oliver.tremel@gmx.at).

The seminar could be focused on some skill or knowledge you got from your work or studies and you use during judging, or some knowledge or good practice you acquired about an aspect of the judge program. It could be a presentation of one of the projects you're working on, or even organizing a fun game to end the day with!

You don't need to be an expert on the topic you plan to present, as long as you think you have something useful to share with the community.

Senior judges and candidates for leveling up in the judge program are expected to apply to present a seminar or workshop. If you would like to present a seminar and don't find an appropriate topic, email us and we will find you one.

Since we had a GP in Vienna 4 months apart we would prefer not to duplicate topics, since majority of attendees will be the same. If you presented a topic in Vienna 2013 and would like to present here as well, you are very welcome to do so with a different topic.
