Event Information
Event Info
Hello, judges!
The Cradle of Aviation Museum, Metagame Gurus, and Brothers Grim Games are proud to host Clash at the Cradle 2, the sequel to last year's successful Clash at the Cradle!
As with last year, the primary event is a Competitive REL 2k Modern event. There will also be an unsanctioned NYSE qualifier Competitive REL Vintage event for a Mox Ruby, and fill-and-launch draft and Standard side events.
If you would like to be considered to Head Judge this Vintage event, please indicate as such in your cover letter.
Compensation
Compensation for Floor Judges will be $125. Lunch will be provided.
There are two application types: Full Sponsorship and Standby. Standby judges, if accepted, are expected to be at the venue as floor staff would and ready to be activated if necessary. If not activated, Standby judges will receive free entry into their event of choice.
Event Expectations
Judges at this event are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents. As representatives of Metagame Gurus, Brothers Grim, The Cradle of Aviation, and the Magic Judge Program, judges are expected to behave in a professional manner at all times.
Judges are expected to arrive on time for the start of their shift. Registration for this event begins at 9:00 AM, and the event starts at 10:00am. This means that call time will be 8:30 AM. This will give us plenty of time to make last minute corrections to the venue, as well as register players. Also, if you anticipate being unable to arrive by the start of the call time, please make note of that in your application. Judges will be expected to stay through the quarterfinals of their assigned event.
Judges should be in standard Magic Judge Program attire of appropriate Magic Judge shirt, black pants or skirt, black belt, and comfortable black shoes. "Appropriate shirt" can either be an official GP black shirt (preferred if available), a regional polo, or a plain black button-down shirt. During breaks, or any other time that a judge is off duty, judges should remove, or cover, their Judge shirt.
The application window for this event will close at 11:59pm on Friday, March 30th, 2018. We will be accepting judges on a rolling basis. If you have any questions, please contact Matt Cooper at mattcooper1293@gmail.com or Kush Singhal at coolcyclone2000@yahoo.com.
