StarCityGames.com Season 1 Regionals Presented by Pastimes

On behalf of Pastimes, thank you for your interest in making this one of the best events of the year. We are looking for friendly, knowledgeable, professional individuals to deliver exceptional guest service through the entire event.

The staff will consist of more than just judges. We are also looking for great people to help with scorekeeping and registration. If you or someone you know is interested in helping in one of these areas, please share this info with them. If they do not have easy access here, please have them email us at john@pastimes.net and let us know of their interest.

All staff members are expected to perform in a professional manner that reflects positively on the rest of the event staff, Pastimes, Wizards of the Coast, and the Judge Program. We desire team members that seek to promote a fun, exciting environment for everyone to enjoy.

Judges are expected to wear their black Magic Judge shirt which should remain tucked in and buttoned to the next to the top button or higher, an undershirt, black belt, black pants, black socks, and comfortable, closed-toed shoes. Please make sure your shirt is neat prior to the event. If you need a judge shirt, or an additional one, we can provide that if you let us know in advance.

Staff in administrative or retail roles will be provided with a Pastimes shirt and are expected to wear black pants, black socks, and comfortable, closed-toed shoes.

This application covers all event roles, including judging, scorekeeping, and registration. We need to fill the following roles for this event:

-Registration: Engages players and takes event registration

-Judge: Engages players, assists with game rulings

All Staff members will receive Lunch and Dinner in addition to:

Floor Judge $100 or $125 Store Credit


Registration $100 or $125 Store Credit


Standby Free Entry if not activated



Floor Judges will be released after Swiss rounds are complete.

Standby means that you are not confirmed to work, but that you agree to show up and be "activated" as necessary. You will be included in forum communications, and we may activated you before the event begins. You will also receive free entry into the event if not activated.

To apply for Standby status, please select "Standby".

For this event you will be an independent contractor for Pastimes, Inc. You will need to submit a W9 and submit to a background check. At the end of the year will we send you a form 1099 for your taxes and there will be no tax withholding onsite as this is the contractor's responsibility. Testing opportunities may be available at this event. If you are interested in testing, please note that in your application. Any staff requesting testing will be able to test only if requested at least two weeks prior to the event with all prerequisites completed and the event has available judges to proctor tests.
