UKISA Regional Conference 2018

Welcome to the Judge Apps event page for the UKISA Regional Conference 2018!

Regional Conferences are one of the few opportunities that members of the UKISA community can get together to share stories, ideas, knowledge and each other's company outside of events and 2018's offering will be no different. This year's conference will be a two day gathering in Peterborough, UK where we invite you to come and spend time with your peers, friends and mentors.

This year there will be a cover charge of £5 per attendee to cover refreshments, this will need to be paid before your application can be confirmed. If this is a barrier to your attendance then please contact a member of the organising team.

The venue is The Bull Hotel in Peterborough. It is located next to the Westgate Shopping Centre, which is itself located adjacent to Peterborough railway station. Rooms are available in the hotel itself or at plenty of local chain and boutique brands around the city. A map of these can be found in the links section.

Peterborough is served by multiple regional and international airports, mainline rail and road links, and is within easy commuting distance from London and its airports and rail hubs.

This year’s program of activities will begin at around 10:30 on the morning of Saturday 13th October and run until about 17:00 on Sunday 14th October.

There will be optional activities on Saturday evening, with the main programme ending at approximately 18:00.

UKISA Conference 2018 is open to all certified judges in the region and we encourage those at all levels to apply. However, the content will be aimed primarily at those who are exploring or currently working at Competitive REL.

Judges from outside of UKISA are also welcome to apply to attend; these applications will be reviewed and accepted at the appropriate Regional Coordinator’s discretion.

The event has an attendee capacity due to venue restrictions and early applications are encouraged. Once the capacity has been reached, further applications may be placed on Standby and accepted on a first come, first served basis.

There is a £5 cover charge per attendee for this Conference to cover refreshments during the weekend. Please be aware that receipt of this payment is required in order to accept your application.

The agenda for UKISA Conference 2018 will look a little different to previous ones with less emphasis on formal lectures and seminars and a more fluid, tailored experience is planned.

The final programme will be published in due course but expect more choice, control and flexibility in the available sessions whilst conference favourites will still be an integral part of the weekend.

If you are interested in facilitating or delivering elements of the content then please indicate this in your applications and ensure you apply before 23:59 on Sunday 1st July 2018. We have slots available for traditional seminars, workshops, demonstrations, simulations, games, panels and just about any other activity you may be interested in.

We are also seeking volunteers to help steward at the event. This role will include managing people and activities but not not necessairly creating or delivering your own content. This is ideal for those that want to be involved in supporting the event but who may not have the time or inclination to create their own material.

As a token of appreciation of the time which judges give up to attend the conference, certified judges who attend and actively participate in the conference environment will receive a selection of promotional foils. With the programme of events being less formal than previously this also means that foils will be allocated based on your willingness to engage and participate in the way that best suits you, but please do remember that we are all here to learn and develop.
