Welsh Nationals Weekend of Magic @ Firestorm Games

Welcome to Welsh Nationals Weekend of Magic! 

We are looking for a team of judges to help run and judge a number of events running across the weekend of Welsh Nationals. These events include: The Welsh National Championship, a Sealed PPTQ, a Modern PPTQ, the Firestorm Cup (Pauper), Legacy Showdown and On-Demand events.

Judges should prepare to be flexible and take on a number of responsibilities over the weekend including floor judging, customer service, head judging smaller events, tidying rubbish, pushing in chairs, etc.

For Saturday, we are looking for:

4x Floor Judges

2x Standby Judges

For Sunday, we are looking for: 

2x Floor Judges

2x Standby Judges

Judges may apply to work on either one or both days. Please indicate whether you are available in a standby position on either of these days.

Due to the scale of the event, only L3 judges or L2 judges working toward L3 will be considered for the Head Judge role. The Head Judge role is likely to be announced a few weeks prior to applications being closed to allow for them to have an input into the remaining judge solicitation.

L1 judges are encouraged to apply for this event, but preference will be given to those who have previous C-REL experience and those who are working towards L2. L2 testing opportunities may be possible for judges who are on staff. If you are interested in this, please make this clear in your cover letter.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fact that less judges are required for Sunday, you will have a higher chance of acceptance if you are flexible in the amount of days you can work.

This event will be held at Firestorm Games in Cardiff, located within the South Wales Gaming Center:

Cardiff Central Railway Station (CDF) is a 5 minute walk away from the venue, close to where most local buses also terminate.

Compensation 

Judges will receive: 

·         £75/day + 1 Box (Core 2019) in a Head Judge role (only applicable to Welsh National Championship)

·         £75/day in a Floor Judge role

·         £75/day in a Scorekeeper role 

In addition to this, all judges will be provided with a free lunch voucher that can be used on site at our café, service a range of hot meals & snacks. All judges will also have access to bottled water throughout their shift/s.

Standby judges will receive £20/day in credit which can be used towards any of the events on offer. Activated standby judges will receive the agreed rate.

Additional Info

We offer food and drink on site, however Cardiff's metropolis is a short walk away should you wish to purchase something more substantial. Most local takeaways will also deliver to the store. Toilets are available onsite.
