Event Information
Greetings!
Once again, a judge conference will be happening in Halifax this year! This will be a one-day conference held on Saturday June 16th 2018. We will be using the same location as last year in the RBC Learning Center, 3rd floor of the Halifax Central Library.
Applications are open to judges of all levels as well as judge candidates. Please make sure you apply before May 21th to help confirm attendance numbers.
Cover letter
Each applicant is expected to provide a short cover letter where they must explain which subjects related to judging they would like to see presented. This will help us determine the community's needs and plan presentations accordingly if possible.
Presenters
We are looking for five or six presenters to run seminars at the conference. If you are interested, please mention it in your cover letter with the subject(s) you would like to present.
ALL Presentations must be done in English and must have received final approval one week before the Conference.
Foils allocation
Like last year, each L1+ attendee will receive a packet of judge foils. Presenters will receive an extra packet.
Judge candidates are welcome to attend, but are not eligible for judge foils.
As always, each attendee is required to fill out the feedback form for each seminar as well as the General Conference Feedback form to obtain their foils, which will be mailed out after the conference is over.
Fees
As was the case last year, securing a proper location for our needs can be a bit expensive and the budget provided by the Canadian Conference project team may not be sufficient to cover all the costs. Once all costs and attendance numbers are determined, we shall announce if a participation fee is required.
We aim that this fee will not exceed $10 per person.
Exams opportunities
Opportunities for L1/L2 testing are available during the conference. Please mention in your cover letter if you want to write your exam during the conference.

After that activity, any other activities can be organized between attendees without restrictions.
