So, an interesting situation came up at a GPT for Las Vegas I played in on Saturday. One player (let's call him Alan) was facing down his opponent (Norm) who had a Chalice of the Void with one charge counter on it. Alan casts Shattering Spree, replicating it once, and targeting the Chalice with both, though he wasn't 100% sure if that would work, so a Judge was called. While he issued his ruling, Norm looked through his sideboard, and after the ruling was delivered, Norm must have had a lapse of what was going on because he put his entire sideboard in his deck. It was caught immediately, and he assumed it was a Game Loss, which was the penalty that was delivered.
My question is this: Assuming you can rule out USC-Cheating, what infraction would this technically be? Deck/Decklist Problem seems the most likely, but I don't actually know. I've never seen anything like this happen before.
