That is because you are listed under the judges tab in WER. They have to enroll you as a player from that tab

Thank you all for your answers!! Adding up a bit, my question is regarding
Prereleases. I love to judge, but to play as well. On our store, we're
going to host Prereleases at late hours, so attendance is expected at no
more than 20 players. There is going to be a shopkeeper handling sales and
score keeping, so based on your answers I'd say it's Ok for me to play as
well as judge :D

My only reservation about judging and playing at a pre-release is that you're going to have significantly more judge calls than normal. If it gets too disruptive it could be frustrating for your opponent. I'd suggest being prepared to drop from the tournament if it becomes too much. However, if you can make it work, go for it!

Have fun!!! :)

I can't seem to find a judges tab in WER. To the best of my knowledge, I'm
using the latest version. (4.1.4.403?) Anyone care to give me instructions?
=)

In the local players tab, you can filter by (iirc) all, unenrolled, and
judges, and anyone enrolled as a judge will not appear in the “unenrolled”
filter.

I have had issues in the past with the head judge getting reset if enrolled
as a player; the easy solution that I've used since then is to set the HJ
as the last thing I do before submitting the event. Because I do this, I
have no idea if it's still an issue, but it sounds like it might be.

Change the tab at Local Players to “All”, then you can also enroll judges as player.
