The Ole Vendilion Clique reveal trick: how do you deal with it at FNM?

This happened at a recent FNM and I want to see what others would do.

Player A casts Vendilion Clique and doesn't say anything.

Player B fans out their hand and reveals it.

Player A stares intently at Player B's hand for about 5 seconds.

Player A then says ‘Oh, I’m targeting myself'

If you saw this as a judge at FNM, what would you do or say, if anything?

How about if this happens at a PPTQ?

I'd admonish both players to communicate more clearly next time an explain
B to wait with revealing his hand next time. Because player A didn't
immediatly say ‘no, no, I’m targeting myself' after B revealed, I'd rule he
did target B and resolve the trigger that way.

At Anything sanctioned:

With no immediate ‘whoa there, I’m targeting myself' This smells pretty fishy… with looking at B's hand for more than a second before saying anything… I'm having words about the fishiness to try and figure out if A was trying to get free information by misleading his opponent based on what one would typically expect from a Cliquing.

Whether it's FNM or a PPTQ, this is NOT cool in any sense of the word, especially if A knows what he's doing (Which I'm already leaning towards believing he does with the pause to stare at B's hand)

Dick move for sure, but legal.

Nothing prevents B from revealing his hand.
Player B can simply wait for A to say his target..

I would talk to A and explain that even if this is legal, its not helping in making friends ^^
and to B i would say with every gameaction taken just take a sec and think whats happening, don't think that even if clique targets mostly opponents, it doens't always have to be this way.

I would ask Player B: “Why did you show your opponent the cards in your hand if Player A didn't announce you were the target for Vendilion Clique?”

(Likely) answer from player B: “Because that's what normally happens. I always thought people always target the other player with Vendilion Clique, right?”

Me: “Nope. This is why you should always ask who is targeted before showing your hand.”

It will depend on the ‘vibe’ at the FNM, some are more competitive than others. I think that will make a big difference in how you deal with it (and how the opponent will take it).
