Mana Symbol fix in Judge Center exams

Hello my friends, how are you doing?

You may know that there is an issue with mana symbols in Judge Center exams. Well I did my best to fix it ;)

I created and published a Chrome Extension to replace the broken images with shiny, freshly, correct ones.

You only need to install the Chrome Extension and open an exam, and everything should be working:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/judge-center-mana-symbol/fbecfcehoehhmbgahginlnnljejipldc

I just fixed some of the symbols, so if you still encounter a broken image, please send me the broken image url.

If you have any issue, feedback or special need, ask me.

Also, if you are a developer and want to improve something, the code is available on github, feel free to send a pull request:
https://github.com/vquaiato/mana-symbol-fix-extensions
(it is mainly a javascript script)

Thank you for reading,
Vinicius Quaiato.

As part of the Judge Center content team, I'd like to offer my thanks to
Vinicius for making this fix available. This issue has been a frustration
for us for a while now.

Submitted a pull request to fix the issue with X and make it easier to add the other symbols once we know their naming pattern in the new format. If someone knows offhand, please let Vin (or me, if I'm around) know so it can get added in.

I've stickied this post to make it more obvious to people in the future, and can we keep bug reports out of this thread.

So, why do users have to fix content of WotC?

edit: I won't install the extensions because of obvious reasons.

And yes, I know it's an old thread, but it's still not fixed.

As frustrating as it may be, there is only so much “push” for fixes when it comes to WotC systems. The developers and other parties within WotC have to make decisions about how to prioritize their workloads and what fixes can be made to a legacy system. Especially in terms of whether that system could potentially be broken by accident.

Our choice then is to how to handle that frustration, or make our own accommodations, and deal with a set back beyond our control. Personally, I'm beyond thrilled to see that solutions that the community comes with, even if it isn't “our responsibility”.

OK, so we have an issue, we have workarounds … I'm going to go ahead and say “we don't need a ‘gripe session’” and close this thread.
