In this link explaining about Nationals, there's a section called Last Chance Qualifiers and Trials. In it, they specify that players that are qualified for Nationals may compete a Last Chance Qualifiers. It then details another type of event, called Last Chance Trials. Those will award byes for Nationals.

In the Premier Event Invitation Policy there's no mention of these Last Chance Trials. Nor is there a mention that that's a way to gain byes for Nationals.

My questions for clarification are as follows:

• Are players who are qualified for Nationals allowed to participate in LCQs?
  

• What will they win in such case? Just the prizes awarded apart from the qualification?
  

• Will the qualification be passed down if an already qualified player wins?
  

• Are there such a thing as Last Chance Trials that award byes for Nationals?
  

• Does a Nationals that runs top8 on Sunday qualify as a two-day Nationals and thus makes LCTs give 2 byes?
  

• Can a player that qualifies for Nationals through a LCQ participate in a LCT to gain byes?

Does a Nationals that runs top8 on Sunday qualify as a two-day Nationals and thus makes LCTs give 2 byes? –> Yes, but this wasn't really the intention. I'd expect this to be clarified for next year; if a Nationals runs the Swiss rounds over two days, it's considered a two-day Nationals. That wasn't clarified during the scheduling process this year, so having only the Top 8 on a second day will qualify as a two-day Nationals.

Can a player that qualifies for Nationals through a LCQ participate in a LCT to gain byes? –> well, maybe. Most likely, these will be run concurrently, and you can't play in both. If they're sequential, then it is allowed.
