Explaining "Order Blockers" to players

Hi all,

So the rules about double blocking and the attacking player then ordering blockers had been in place for a while now. However every time it comes up (playing or judging) I find it very difficult to explain to the attacking player why that means and what they're supposed to do. Inevitably they try to assign damage and/or look confused before, eventually, I get them to order blockers.

Has anyone come up with a nice simple succinct explanation that they've found works?

I really like the way JudgeCast explained it some time ago.

Ordering blockers is like goons getting in line for the hero to kick their asses one at at time in an action movie.

I've said “imagine the blockers in a narrow hallway and the attacking player chooses the order they line up facing the attacking creature.” but the Judgecast version creates an unforgettable image in fewer words.
