Question about "My events" on apps.magicjudges.org

When I go to My Events, I see a list of Past Events. Where does this information come from? I ask because it lists nothing for me before Oct 2006, and nothing between March 2012 and the present.

It was what we were able to scrape together from DCIFamily. If you want to fill in the gaps, you can use the “Add to Event History” at the bottom.

Question about "My events" on apps.magicjudges.org

Is there a plan for some kind of automatic update to keep it current (ie. to add any GPs since the first quarter of this year)?

Just before I go and add them all, really ;)

The data comes from both DCIF and DCIX. Recent stuff doesn't appear yet because the process is somewhat tedious, and I was waiting for DCIF events to finish dwindling out before doing it one last time. So recent stuff should get filled in soon, but I have no way of getting data from before 2006 so you'll have to do those manually.

Anyone can add an event to their own event history. It is not a ‘global’ or shared event, and is just used to pad out the event history of those who want a more complete picture of events they've attended, or for judges who may want to ensure their experience is visible when applying to work future events.

As a history of events, I find it useful, but if I add (for example),
Pro Tour Atlanta 2005, shouldn't it be the “official” event? Also, it
would be great if the same event is shared by all people who attended.
As TO, I could probably create the last GP Buenos Aires and fill out
the staff list, but as a judge, I'd love to have my events as a judge
included (and I don't think I should be around creating PT events as I
create PTQs).

Great - you can do that with the “Add to Event History” button.

Adding a Pro Tour to your event history doesn't create Pro Tour event - it adds a note to your event history that you were on staff for a Pro Tour.

Yes - it would be great if this site had every piece of data about every event ever, but we simply don't have access to that information and while YOU seem willing to dig up and re-enter the staff of a GP, that's something we certainly can't expect everyone who's ever run a Magic event to do.

I'm going to close this thread, right after I make sure the conclusion is clear:

1) Events from pre-2006 are not going to be automatically populated on this site. If you want to add events to your event history from that time period, you may choose to do so using the “Add to Event History button”
2) Once all events on DCIFamily wrap up (which will be near the end of 2012), Alexei plans to do one final grab of data to fill in the gap from earlier this year.
