I've mentioned a couple of times that we will be starting to post updates on the Regular REL blog about judging at Regular REL, going deeper into the policy and philosophy of these tournaments than is possible to do within the limits of the Judging at Regular REL document.

Hey Kim! I think this is a great idea and one of the things is like to see is if there was more info on the tournament running side of things. I know lot of L1s are also TOs, so that might be beneficial.

For example I had a situation come up over the weekend where a match was mis reported because there were no match slips at Game Day and it caused a player to intentionally draw himself into 9th cause another guy was 3-1 but it was reported as him being 2-2 which caused a whole mess of issues since it was way too late to re-pair.

It might not be in the exact scope of what judges do but I think part of our jobs is to make sure no player feels like they were “screwed”, especially at a regular rel/local level

I really enjoyed everything that you wrote. I think you made a great choice for the starting topic. While I don't think it should be next, at some point I would enjoy seeing an in-depth discussion of the serious problems from a Regular REL perspective.
