Just turned my laptop's internet off and tested.

It displays the “Can't connect to server” notices that you'd expect, but after that it continues to hang on the splash screen. Left it for about 5 minutes at this point…

Couldn't get WER to work on computer at FNM, but that is a really old and buggy one and was hoping that was the issue. Sadly, it's not. I can't get WER to work at home either. Is there a way for me to upload the FNM now?

One of my local TOs said it worked for him. Another TO says it's not working.

It's not working on 4 computers here, one of which is brand new to DCI, one which got updated 2-3 weeks ago, one of which had a brand new instance and one which had not been updated in a long time.

The one with infrequent updates (2-3 weeks) was doing slightly better and let me use it offline for about 5 minutes before freezing up. It's giving me the same message now. For now I'm running things manually, but I'm planning on playing with the program to see if I can figure it out tomorrow. If anyone has suggestions or if there's any information in specific post here and I'll try to reply with it.

I got it to work.

What I did:

Restarted computer several times.
WER freezes-open task manager, and right click-move to front. This rebooted the program.
If this doesn't work, end task program and try again. If this didn't work, reboot computer.

After 4 tries, it got past it and loaded normal.

Could anyone try to uninstall WER and download the current one from
http://wpn.wizards.com/en/wer. then, run it without update.

For me, I can open WER without enter a credential and the splash screen
problem seem not occur in this version yet.

if it work for you, maybe this is a temporary work around for anyone who
want to use WER in offline mode for a while until the permanent solution
release in future.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted and it was back to functional around 8PM PST.

An update, all of the computers that were having issues yesterday are completely fine as of 10AM this morning.

Hopefully the glitch has fixed itself.

There was absolutely no data loss as far as I can tell.

None. Also most of the old WER copies we have went back to functional, it seems to have mostly been a matter of when exactly they started working again. Once the main servers kicked back on, things were solid.

The same for me. It started working without doing anything in both laptops I've got for running tournaments.

I still can't startup in offline mode. This is quite the annoyance, does anyone have a workaround?
To avoid using my phones internet that is very hit or miss in the basement I play in, I start WER at home and sleep my laptop until I arrive at my venue. This is not very ideal….
