At Regular REL, I'd be tempted to restore known cards (ie: revealed from thoughtseize, or recently returned to hand) to the unfortunate player's hand. I can't see the opponent of the unfortunate player arguing that that is unfair. It's an ugly partial fix. But at regular, it is the best thing I can reasonably do.
