Player Lookup Issues Following New DCI Account System

Did anyone experience issues with WER last night in looking up player information for people who were not already in their local database?

I had 2 players come to a store last night, and on the computer we were running WER on, they were not in local players. They had their DCI cards, and had played at other venues. WER couldn't find them by name, and entering their DCI into the player tab always resulted in the message of “This is an incorrect DCI number” (or words to that effect).

So we then tried to get them to sign up for new DCI numbers with the online system. The numbers they were assigned also gave the same results when it was put into WER.

Ultimately I had my personal laptop with my, and my copy of WER's player database had their old information in. Once I did a player import, I was able to bring them in just fine.

I don't have access to the machine that was being fussy right now, but was just curious to see if anyone else experienced any problems of a similar nature last night, to help determine if it was something with that instance of WER, or something broader.

Thanks,

I had these issues as well, though it was on Thursday for our Standard event, not on Friday I was able to to use the same roundabout way you were to get through though. Our Friday Night Magic was all people already in our local database, so I didn't have a way to check it out yesterday.

I did two events today (Saturday) and had the exact same problem. Sometimes the “find player” button would allow me to look up a DCI number, sometimes not. But if the player was not in the local player database I could usually not enroll them without getting that error message.

My workaround was to just dismiss the error message, double check with the player that I got the DCI number right, manually fill in first name, last name and country, then click in the DCI number field, and then the Enroll button would re-enable, and I could click it to get them on the list. Sometimes I had to do this a couple of times before the enrollment would “take”, but eventually I got them all in there.

My LGS had same issues for GPT on Saturday.

Find player screen listed up the player by surname/country search, but
it could not enroll. I applied same workaround Ernst explained, and it
worked.

I had this occur last Sunday while scorekeeping for a PTQ (on 11/2). I'm not sure what was causing the issue, but I could not find the player based off of DCI # alone. When I went into “Find Players” I could find the player, with the correct DCI that I entered, in the database. It would not import the data however.

Workaround was simply to manually enter the player's name, DCI #, and country and click enroll.
