New Judge Article - When Judges are Playing, Not Judging

Greetings, all. When we play, we can sometimes lose our identity - player or judge? Or both? This article explores some ideas associated with the various roles that we can have as players. This is NOT about when playing while you are judging in your REG events. It's about your roles and responsibilities while you are a player only. The world will still look at you as a judge, so it's not as easy as “just be a player”. One item in particular is the conflict of interest that can arise when you WANT to help as a judge but you can't - or at least you are limited in what you can do. While the article deals with much more than this issue, it was the impetus that initially started the article.

I want to thank Judge Filipe Fernandez for an excellent post to the Investigations Committee that planted the seed for this article.
