How should (and would) a judge react to a call for oracle text of a basic land?
Thanks

I'm guessing you don't want “ROFL”?

No ^^
What I am considering is, if I am drawing for gas and I draw an Island, is it okey to ask a judge for oracle text (the reason ofc is obvious - to make opponent you drew something useful).

I have received this question twice. The first situation was as we were walking away from the table so he could discreetly make a slow play complaint. The second was for Wastes to see if it was affected by Blood Moon or was a type that could be chosen by Sundering Titan.

If someone asked me for the oracle text to Mountain, I would recite it from memory quickly. I don't know why they would be asking that question, but I would expect to figure it out in the next few seconds if there's an underlying reason (can I speak with you away from the table) or if they're trying to potentially stall (can we have a time extension).

As for the situation you described, I personally am not comfortable with using a judge as a prop for a bluff. I would ask him what the name of the card is. Although I'd try to pick up how jokingly the question is asked and maybe respond sarcastically as well just based on the feel at the table.

So, as I understand, if a player is not doing this to slow down the game just to bluff, no warnings for slow play should be applied?

I would not automatically give a slow play warning just for asking the question. I'd have to see more signs of slowing down play than just that question. It could theoretically be closer to stalling. I just don't want to snap penalize a seemingly pointless question because there could be reasons behind it that had not come to light yet.

I would not do that. This way you are giving to his opponent information what he have in his hand.
I would fetch him Mountain oracle text on mobile.

If a player asked me for Oracle text for Mountain, I would tell him that it
has no Oracle text. I'd likely also explain what's on it's Type line. If
this was a card that wasn't public information, I would provide this
information away from the table. I'd also provide a time extension for the
length of my ruling.

I would do what Shawn said, but on a second or subsequent similar request would be considering whether the player was engaging in TE Slow Play or USC Stalling.
