About to get Domri-nated - BRONZE

Welcome back to the Knowledge Pool, this week we have a Bronze scenario, so please submit your answers to the link below.

August is playing against November at your Modern PPTQ, it's the third game of the final match. November controls several creatures, he has no cards in hand, 1 life and is tapped out. August controls 8 lands, has 3 cards in hand and 1 life. August casts Domri Rade, activates its +1 ability, looks at the top card of his library for a moment, then grabs it and puts it into his hand. November is about to stop him, but it's too late. Both players immediately call a judge. August has 2 Mountains, and a Keldon Marauders in hand. What do you do?

Thanks to everyone who submitted solutions this week. I'm highlighting this answer from Bastiaan Sims.

I would give August a warning for GPE-HCE. August had to show the card before putting it his hand. Because of this we are not sure August put a creature card or something else into his hand.

Fix:
August shows his hand to November. November can pick a card from them and return it to the top of the library. After this August performs the action again and shows the card. If November choses to pick a mountain to put on top of the library it will stay there.

Bastiaan is exactly correct.

This is Hidden Card Error, as August has moved a card to his hand when it was supposed to be revealed, and we can't fix the problem with publically available information.

This clause in the HCE additional remedy section applies, and matches the fix that Bastiaan suggested:

Originally posted by IPG 2.3 Hidden Card Error - Additional Remedy, in part:

If the error involves one or more cards that were supposed to be revealed, the player reveals the set of cards that contains the unrevealed cards and his or her opponent chooses that many previously-unknown cards. Treat those as the cards that were ‘revealed’ and return them to the set that was being selected from; the player then reperforms the action.
