For a few days, WER has a problem registering players from to a tournament. It occured only minimal at my local Boosterdraft but caused a remarkable delay at a PTQ.

The reason is it will not accept players who are not in the ‘local players’ database.

Until the bug is solved, a fix is to enter the players (manually typing their name+DCI#) into local players, and then register the player from there on.

It is great that we have this resource to find quick solutions or
workarounds.

Yesterday there was a PTQ in Buenos Aires. This problem was one of the many
issues that generated very long delays. We had a SK who is experienced at
running store tournaments of different sizes and a few PTQs, but this SK
can't solve issues that arise or find workarounds easily, so it was a
mixture of things that created the delay. Also the main internet connection
was down and they used one of the backup 3G data connections.

At some point, it didn't allow the event to go past round 6, nor to change
anything else.

Over the whole event, I estimate a delay of 90 minutes was due to WER (how
it works, the delays involving working 100% of the time online with
internet connection issues, its bugs, and stuff like that). And another 60
minutes delay due to the SK's inexperience.

Actually, you don't need to enter the player informations manually, the WER does indeed find them without any problems by just entering their DCI number into the local players list. You don't even need to add a land, WER adds all the informations automatically.
