Game Day facts?

I have a question about Game Days. Is there a fact sheet associated with this tournament? Is a top 4/top 8 cut required anymore? I'm trying to find information out about this, but from the few documents I've seen I haven't been able to get any information about how to run a Game Day.

Thanks

I have not seen any fact sheet. However, "
http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/event-types/gameday“ requires that the
tournament have a ”champion“ to receive the playmat, so I presume some sort
of cut is required.

Further, the WPN site ”http://wpn.wizards.com/en/game-day“ states ”*3. Get
the playoff right*. If you have 16 players or fewer, cut to a Top 4. If you
have exactly 8 players, run three Swiss rounds without a Top 8 cut."

Here's the Fact Sheet:
http://wpn.wizards.com/sites/wpn/files/attachements/game_day_ogw_en_lr.pdf

There's a WPN page that has info here:
http://wpn.wizards.com/en/game-day?utm_source=KIT&utm_medium=INSTRUCTIONS&utm_campaign=EVENT

The part that Dan quoted was in the “Best Practices” section. (Note: It is
not a “Requirements” section)

To further clarify what Dan Collins said,
Further, the WPN site ”http://wpn.wizards.com/en/game-day“ states ”*3. Get
the playoff right*. If you have 16 players or fewer, cut to a Top 4. If you
have exactly 8 players, run three Swiss rounds without a Top 8 cut."
This is listed under Best Practices which does not necessarily say you have to have a Top 8/4 cut.

I thought it was clear. Guess we need an ‘O’.

I think that no offical answer is needed. WPN clearly leave it to TO's decision what structure their tournaments should have. It is quite common to have a single elimination Top to find out who earns the title and playmat but it is not mandatory.

BTW, I am not sure you would get an official answer from high level judges. Ask a WPN representative instead.
