But isn't this explicitly covered by the next part? Also we wouldn't call the police (or do any of the other things you mentioned) even if we believe they knew and were using such cards intentionally. We would just apply the appropriate penalties.

Also, Tournament Officials do not have the legal authority to confiscate fake cards and should not attempt to do so. Stopping their use in the event is sufficient.

Yes. They are saying the same thing, twice, because it is important and
people might not understand it if it is just said once. Redundant
restatement helps people who are having issues with something or reading it
for the first time comprehend it.

Well if it is meant that way, I feel that it is much harder to comprehend, that “no further action” is supposed to mean “no further action but a penalty”, then that “no further action” means “do not call the police, do not take the cards away”. A simple “do not take any further action but fixing the problem and giving the appropriate penalty, depending on whether you believe it was intentional or not” would be a lot clearer. I wish this was an example in DP in the IPG. I had this happen multiple times now.

Konrad, let me try to elaborate a bit on what others have already said.

We don't confiscate the fakes, try to “arrest” the player, etc. Those are further actions that we (thankfully) aren't required or even supposed to perform.

However, those fakes are not real cards, so they aren't - can't be! - part of the deck, leading to a Deck Problem. Assess the penalty for that infraction, and assist (within reason) with a remedy.
