There is an unnoticed discrepancy in the life totals of Aria during her game against Noir. In an earlier turn, Aria had played an untapped Blood Crypt, stating she would go to 18 but forgetting to write it down, while Noir did put her down to 18.

This turn, Aria uses a Verdant Catacombs to search an Overgrown Tomb, and looking at her life total of 20 she states she goes to 17 and puts the land onto the battlefield tapped. Then, after shuffling, she taps the Blood Crypt as well and casts Tarmogoyf.

At this point Noir calls a judge, how is this resolved?

The history of game actions is completely unambiguous. One player has just
taken bad notes. Aria is at 15. Correct her notes and move on.

You can issue a CPV for Aria stating her life total incorrectly, but I
might skip it because there has been no opportunity for either player to
make subsequent game decisions based on that bad information.

Seems fairly straightforward. Assuming she acknowledges the initial mistake when you ask her about the blood crypt, just correct her life total to 15 and move on.

I think that you can't. Aria is violating MTR 2.14, life totals, by not doing verbal announcement of her life totals. CPV covers MTR 4

So, since there is not infraction associated to MTR 2.14 in the IPGs, correct the life total, issue her a caution and move on :-)

You can issue CPV for Aria.

IPG 3.7 TE - CPV

Definition: A player violates the Player Communication policy detailed in section 4.1 of the MTR

MTR 4.1

Free information includes:

-Player life totals

The following rules govern player communication:

-Players may not represent derived or free information incorrectly

She therefor (by not writing herself to 18 after Blood Crypt, but setting herself to 17 after Fetch-Tomb) has violated 4.1 MTR and can be issued CPV.
