DFCs and Continuous Effects

Reading the CR, I found that DFCs like Jace, Prodigy Vryn doesn't become a new object when they transform (CR 711.12). So if AP activate the ability of Jace, Prodigy Vryn and in response NAP activate the second ability of New Prahv Guildmage, when everything resolves and Jace transforms, AP will not be able to activate the abilities of Jace, Telepath Unbound?

The same is valid if the order is changed, first NPG then Jace?

thx

Hi,

That's true for most double faced cards. But it's not true for Jace (and the other Magic Origins planeswalkers). Jace and friends don't just transform, they exile themselves, then return themselves to the battlefield transformed. Since they change zones, they're different objects when they return to the battlefield transformed.

The NAP is free to activate the Guildmage's ability in response to Jace, Vryn's Prodigy's activated ability. However, when Jace's ability resolves, he exiles himself, then returns to the battlefield transformed, meaning that's it's an entirely different permanent with no link to its previous life when it returns to the battlefield, so Jace, Telepath Unbound would not be affected by the Guildmage's effect and would not be detained.
