Gauntlet of Power

I control a basic Mountain and a Gauntlet of Power naming red. My opponent controls Contamination. When I tap my Mountain for mana, is it considered to have “tapped for red” for purposes of triggering the Gauntlet's mana ability, or does the Contamination override this?

You will get an extra red mana.

“Tapping a land for red mana” cares about the color of mana normally produced by that ability. You ignore any replacement effects replacing that color.
