Just wondering what's the official verdict on a creature with a bestowed enchantment on it gaining protection from the bestow card's color?

Yet 702.16c states that: A permanent or player with protection can't be enchanted by Auras that have the stated quality. Such Auras attached to the permanent or player with protection will be put into their owners' graveyards as a state-based action. (See rule 704, “State-Based Actions.”)

The Theros update for the comprehensive rules have not been released yet, but since the Magic rules manager says that's how it will work, that's how we're treating it.
