Yisan's tutor ability checks the number of Verse Counters when?

If i activate Yisan and then Twiddle and reactivate Yisan, what happens?

The number of verse counters is determined on resolution.

Since the ability's effect simply mentions “the number of verse counters on Yisan”, it doesn't know anything about what happened when the ability was activated. Targets, modes, and damage division are chosen upon activation; everything else is determined on resolution.

So if you activate Yisan, untap it in response with Twiddle, and activate it again, and it has 2 verse counters in the end, you can search for two creatures with converted mana cost 2.
