Hello,

if a player concedes a game, is his opponent allowed to take notes of free information about the current game state, like cards on the the battlefield or in the graveyard, before the player shuffles up his cards for the next game?

Players may concede at any time, but can they do so instantly without allowing their opponents to look at the state of the game?

If you're asking if the conceding player *has* to pause while the opponent takes notes, then No, not at all.

Certainly the opponent can take as many notes as he or she would like, either from memory or because the conceding player is patient and sporting - but that doesn't seem to fit the question. It sounds more like Calvin conceded and Ned wanted to stop him before he scooped, so he could take notes, and Calvin objected?

Too bad for Ned, there's no rules support (and very little sympathy on my part) for what Ned's requesting.
