You have a
Skirge Familiar and a
Library of Leng in play.
As part of resolving an Expertise (e.g.
Yahenni's Expertise) you want to cast a card with an additional cost (e.g. kicker) and you want to pay that cost with the Familiars mana ability. Are you allowed to put the discarded cards on top of your library instead of your graveyard?
Or rather, is paying a spells casting cost you cast when resolving an expertise (or similar cards) an effect?
And in similar cases, is paying additional costs (e.g. as an additional cost to cast ~ sacrifice a creature) an effect?
And please no “this isn't going to happen to approximately 98% of us” because stuff like this is happening over here so I need a precise answer ;)
