Pauper legality

Hello!

With the release of every new expansion, there's a question that sometimes pop-ups about the legality of this new expansion for the Pauper format.

This happens because there are players that play this format IRL with the Mol legality and banlist. But the new set/expansion is always released first on Mol.

Since this is the case, should a new/reprint card be valid fpr Pauper that follows Mol validation be valid for IRL tournments before the IRL release date? If not, please explain, since the validation for these tournments is Mol.

Pauper legality

That's up to whoever's organizing the individual tournament to decide for themselves.

The only formal Constructed formats included in the Magic Tournament Rules, and therefore the only ones that Wizards defines format legality for in paper play are Standard, Modern, Legacy, and Vintage. Tournament organizers can of course host Constructed events that use other formats if they wish, but those formats are not officially defined nor supported by Wizards, so it's up to the tournament organizer themselves to decide what is and is not legal in the custom format they're using for their tournament.
