MTR - How to keep track of life-totals

Hi,

the MTR say that players need to keep track of their life-totals. Obviously they need to keep track of their current life-total, but do they also need to keep track of the history of their life-totals, so keeping track of life-totals with dice or mtg-app is illegal by the MTR?

How is “to keep track of life-totals” defined?

Kind regards,

Jasper

PS: Since this is a question about the tournament rules, I hope that I'm at the right place in the rules q&a.

The MTR doesn't specifically mention history, just life total. Dice are allowed, but discouraged.

Note also - it is NOT an infraction if a player fails to track their life total, per the MTR; it is, however, an infraction if they fail to follow the direct instruction of a tournament official, after we tell them to track their life total.
