Undying and Double-Faced Cards

If I give a double-faced card (such as Huntmaster of the Fells) Undying (via Undying Evil, for example) while it's on its reverse (Ravager of the Fells) side, and it dies, does Undying bring the creature back to the battlefield? If so, I assume it's now on its “front” side again?

I'm unclear if Undying can resolve properly if the card changes characteristics as it is placed in the graveyard or not. I want to say yes, since a Clone that was copying something like a Geralf's Messenger has no problem returning, but it's a bit of a fiddly case, so just looking for a sanity check.

It will bring it back on the front side with a +1/+1 counter.

Undying means “when this permanent is put into a graveyard from the battlefield (…) return it (…)”

It doesn't matter that the object has changed characteristics or that its characteristics are different in the graveyard - the ability tracks the object itself, no matter what it looks like.

Additionally, since it changes zones and becomes a new object, it forgets that it was on the night side - it simply returns as Huntmaster of the Fells.
