Phyrexian Unlife + Angel's Grace

Today we had this situation.
N has 0 life and a Phyrexian Unlife in Play.
A attacks with 500 creatures (Splinter Twin Combo).
N plays Angel's Grace.

What happens?
I ruled following: (didnt matter at the end because N conceded after his draw step)
Phyrexian Unlife says sources deal damage as they have infect, so there would be no damage that would reduce his life to below zero, so his life wouldnt go back to 1. He will lose the game at the end of turn with poison counters.

Am I correct with that ruling?

It started a healthy discussion but none of the 2 possible outcomes clearly won. Either N loses with 500 poison counters or he goes to 1 life.

I'll wait for a Rules Guru to address the rules question, but I want to address another aspect - nothing personal, Johannes - it DOES matter.

It didn't change that game, but it's important for judges to do what Johannes has done here - seek the correct answer, and then follow up with their community. Right now, your community only knows your answer; if it's the right one, great! And, if not, then you've taken the right step to get the right answer, and (I hope!) share it with your players.

This is correct, N loses the game at the end of the turn, during the cleanup step.

Note that with Angel's Grace, life never “goes back” to 1. “Reducing a life total below 1” is making it less than 1 after it was 1 or more. If the life total is already below 1, Angel's Grace won't help.
